    Post your choice of firearm

I'm stuck between two types of guns to buy and could use your imput. My budjet is $600 and i'm not sure if I should get a .308 or 12-gauge. If you had to choose between one which one would you pick along with what make and model? Any advice is appreciated thanks!

Bro, I would need to know what the firearm is for. Why either a rifle or shotty? Most would want to pick between 2 different rifles or shotguns. Are you looking new, used or does it matter? Let me know and if I have any useful input I'd be glad to put in my 2 cents. Peace

Hey Gunnr! I'm building my gun collection but since I live in the gun nazi state of NY i'm only allowed one rifle or shotgun every 90days. Both guns would just be used for haveing fun at the range untill I get my hunting permits. So I figured I ask and see what people would buy if they could only chooose one or the other. I'd increase my spending limit but I have to renew my handgun license and that's going to run me $350 so cash is tight until the summer. I know a bit about the 308's but i'm not up to date when it comes to shotguns. all I know is they are fun to shoot!

Hey bro, If you have a good out door range nearby get the 308 if not maybe if theres a skeet range(Im pretty sure there are in NY) then get a shotty. I have a couple buds that shoot skeet with 18 and 22 in. bbls and get hits, have fun, and shock some others with the short bbls. I love rifles at long range but like you said shottys are just fun to shoot...and you can get slugs for big game with the shotgun to hunt if you don't have a good rifle.

I would start with a 12 gauge shotgun. Everyone should have one. Go with a Remington 870 or Mossberg 500, both will run around $300 or so and will last you a very long time. They're good quality shotguns

MP is that 308 you're talking about made by AT&T? LOL But for real I love shooting at distance. Those hits down range just make you feel good...and Blindshooter if you go with a shotgun I agree with the 870 or the Mossberg 500. I have a 500 in 20ga. I bought used for 150.00 and I love it. They are dependable.
