Post What goes on at gun safety school

I live in NY and am applying for CCW permit with the state of FL. In order for me to get the permit I have to take a safety course at my local range however I've never taken one before. What exactly do they teach at gun safety school that one shouldn't already know before owning a gun?

Here in Virginia we can take an on-line course that will serve as a training session.

Blind, bro you take the CCW course for a non resident Fla. permit. It's the same CCW course for any state. It's got to be the needed hours in class room (varies by state from 8 to 12 hrs.)Then pass the written test on safety and local laws for state of permit then take and pass the range test and send off the results of both tests, a pic, and usually two sets of fingerprints to Fla. pay the fees and wait. The class in any state is good. Just make sure the instructor is accredited and it has enough classroom time for Fla requirements. Good luck. I have my SC permit and I'm taking a class to get my Nevada, Utah and Fla. permits.
