I have one of these beauties. I have reached 1500 in a matter of a few months. Cleaned fully after each range trip with Hoppe's No. 9 solvent and used Hoppe's No. 9 Lubricating Oil.

    Pistol: 2012 Sig SP2022 .40 (factory stock)

    So far, I shot:
    -10% Federal 180gr Hydra-Shok JHP
    -10% Federal 180gr
    -80% PMC Bronze 165gr

-The longest range trip was 350 straight with PMC Bronze with my brother.
-Average range trip with this gun is 150-200 rounds.

The gun has been 99.9% flawless. I say 99.9% because there was one bullet seated really deep in the casing (PMC) and I shot it anyways and got a stove pipe. The gun didn't recoil like regular and sounded different. I think it didn't have as much powder in the casing. I really think it was more of a faulty round than the gun. To me, the gun has been 100%.

    So after 1500 rounds:
-Retained the accuracy it had when I first got it
-99.9% reliable (1 faulty round resulting in stovepipe)

Many people upgrade the polymer guide rod to a stainless steel one. They feel the polymer is a weak spot in the design and will fail after so many rounds. So far with my pistol, this is an unnecessary upgrade. Adding unwanted weight.

Best bang for the buck in it's price range. You get Sig quality and reliability with almost 1/2 the cost of a new 226. It is hard to find a pistol that offers so much in this price range.

The cons are the cost of magazines and it only comes with one.

I agree. I shot the Sig 229 in ranges before but couldn't afford the price when it was time to buy. So I bought the 2022 in 9mm. I love this gun! Have over 500 rounds through it with no problems. Highly recommend this gun. I agree it does suck it only comes with 1 mag though but still worth it.

The SP2022 is an awesome gun i sell about one a day. for the $$$ and for what your getting it cant be beat. I own a P226 and i know its a little pricy but there is a reason for that $$$, you cant go wrong with a Sig. Have you also thought about a Sig P250 they are pretty cool
