I'm looking into buying a new rifle and have a question about the caliber it fire's. The gun is a ruger american rem chamberd in .223. I was wondering if besides the .223rd could I also use the .556rd? I live in NY and not many folks around here know much about the platform so I could use someone with knoweledge to help me out.

Bro, if you're talking about the M77 Hawkeye tactical it is chambered in .223 Rem. so no it will not work with .556. If it was the other way around and chambered in 556 then, yes it would work...

Hey Gunnr thanks for the info. Sof if a rifle is chamberd in .223 it won't fire the .556 but if it's a 556 rifle it will fire the 223 correct?
