If your a novice shooter and on a budget go Glock, want a 1911 get all the bells and whistles you want on it from factory much cheaper than upgrading at a gunsmith. I grew up on 1911's but would recommend a Glock for it's simplicity, cost, reliability and weight. That hurt to say that!!!!!

I was hoping tom would put his 2 cents on my choice between the Kimber custom10 mm or the new glock 20 gen4 fde. Help me choose Tom. I have bought a few guns based on your reviews and hope to get another to.tomorrow. which gun will leave me wanting the other.... I love the price on the glock because I just sunk 5000 into my last two projects.

I'm no expert on either of these guns but if you don't mind my 2 cents.... well if you want a workhorse, a larger capacity, no or minimal malfunctions, a good shooter and not break the bank get the Glock. If you want a beautiful, high dollar gun for the safe rather then the nightstand that you can show off get the Kimber. It all comes down to you brother. Like you said getting one will leave you wanting the other....

I read on another thread a 1911 is to show your friends and a glock is to show your enemies. Since I don't buy guns JUST to show off ill get the glock. To be clear though I do like showing off my guns.

I doubt any enemy that has a 1911 pointed at them, will tell me to show it to your friends and get a Glock, lol

Tom's Kimber is really sweet but I'm eyeballing the Dan Wesson 10mm, just need to hit the lottery first.

Well I got the glock 20 today, thanks for all the input guys. And I agree the Dan Wesson looks awsome, I think when I'm ready to get a 1911 ill save up the pennies for that.
