As I'm sure all you know NY has some of the toughest gun laws in the country. But here's one that will make you happy to live where you do! Here in NY not only do we have to pay to get our permits but every few years we have to renew them. You would think renewing a permit would be easy IT'S NOT! to renew our permits we have to noteify the cops that our license is up in 30days prior to it's renewal date and wait for the paper work to come in the mail if they actually send it.
My permit is up for renewal on march 1st so I call the proper department on the 3rd of feb I was told all renewal forms are in the mail. A few days pass I have yet to get my forms so I call to check and see where they are. They tell me that the person who is in charge of my file isn't in till the following monday to call back then. So I did and the person who I have to talk to says I should have gotten it but to give it till weeks end and and if nothing comes to call on friday feb 14th so she can issue me a new pack of forms to fill out. I call today feb 14th and am told she won't be in until tuesday. We have a 30day grace period to submit our forms after that we lose our license and have to apply all over again and if you own any guns you have to hand them over untill you get your new license. Again be glad you are in a gun loveing state because it could be worse

Bro, I feel for you.But Cuomo said publicly that him and Bloomberg don't want people like us (real American patriots) in NY. We are not welcome nor is the Catholic church. The people running NY state are pitiful. It's time for all you real men in NY to take a stand and vote for rights and freedom and socialist leaders be damned... Good luck blind. You should find a friend or family member in a neighboring state to take charge of your guns until your paperwork is straight. You never know if the state gets their mits on your firearms you may never see them again.

You pose a good question Gunner, what if he doesn't get his paperwork in on time (I'm sure you will Blindshooter) and you're suppose to turn in your firearms and you tell them... "uhhh I gave them to a friend to hold for me" I'm sure you'll have to be smiling when they take your picture holding the little numbers. New York may as well be another country with a "stan" behind it. Good luck Shooter, I hope everything works out for you. Funny thing though, I went to a friend of mines business today and he had to show me a "new to him" antique revolver and he had no qualms of showing it to me with customers coming and going. I LOVE Arizona, help keep Bloomberg OUT!

Gunther, Bro now that Ive moved you arent too far from my new homestead. Maybe sometime in the not too distant future we can get together for a day of shooting and get acuainted face to face. It's always good to meet like minded people that you know from a place like Toms web forum. A lot of good people here. I really can't wait to get settled in the west. I've had all I can take of the east coast....
South Carolina is just too damn close to DC and the socialist states of "New England" I feel for all of you that have to deal with the politics of the north east.

Thanks for the support guys! We actually got rid of bloomberg and cuomo is up for re-election this year so hopefully we can end his rain of terror. If it was legal for me to give my guns to someone in another state I would but NY is like a roach motel when it comes to guns you can bring them in but your not getting them out.

Hey Gunner, moving a little closer to Front Sight are ya :-) to take better advantage of all they offer. Just remember you will have Harry Reed now and he's not to fond of AZ, he had made a change that they don't recognize Arizona's CCW holders anymore. I'd definitely welcome you for some shootn' time, I'm getting a little rusty!

Living here in Oklahoma, I've experienced the land of the free and the home of the brave. Now, I don't open carry, but things are certainly more relaxed here.

In September, my daughter (lives in Florida) has decided to get married in Albany, New York. Carrying a gun into New York state is a felony. I've made the calls and done the reading. I am going through all kinds of withdrawal symptoms and it is not pretty. My wife is not happy either - especially with me. Yikes! I was thinking about flying into Burlington, Vermont and spending a day or two there and just leave my gun (s) in a hotel safe In Bennington...or with a police dept. (I am told that if I don't exercise the rights to take guns on a plane those rights might just kind of go away some day. You know) I can't leave them at a gun shop in Vermont - they have to fill out all kind of fll paperwork. If you have any suggestions (other than learn hand to hand combat skill) , let me know. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sucks when you live in Florida like me and you visit new York, one of the most dangerous city's, you can't carry your gun and protect. Yourself.

I think we should just move all the anti gun people to one part of the country and they can stop worrying about us "gun nuts". I wonder what part of the country would have the highest crime rate.

Why on earth would a government want to limit its citizens ability to protect their own country at the citizens expense. If I were leader of the "free" world I would buy every citizen an assault rifle and a thousand rounds so that they are able to be a frontline defense against all threats, foreign and domestic.

The problem with that idea bro is that the present leader of the free world IS the domestic threat. He would be arming those that want to stop his reign of tyranny in the US.

How any intelligent person could or would want to live in these places or trust the liberals is beyond me...
