Knock down power?? Yes, a big hole with .45 cal but the real answer is location, location, location! ..

I don't think knockdown power is a myth when referring to the 45 caliber -70 govt. Got some 300hp's loaded to 2300fps loaded up in my 1895g next to my bed.

I really think we should use the term "stopping power" as a lot more bad guys can be stopped with a single good hit from a 45 cal. than most other cal. rounds. You have a better chance at a one shot stop with this size round. Remember you use your gun to "stop" the threat. No more, no less...:cool:
