Please be very careful when considering a Taser or electrical stun device. Be sure you know your state's laws on carrying and using these as a civilian. Also, please be sure to get at least some basic training in the use of one of these devices before choosing to carry one for self-defense. Unlike CS and OC "tear gas" and "pepper spray," this device can actually kill a person if improperly used. Please also be aware that if you are in physical contact with your aggressor when oyu decide to zap them, there's a good chance that the charge will carry right across to you as well. Think about AED or defibrillator devices for medical use. There's a reason people yell "CLEAR!" before they discharge one. If anybody is touching the patient, or the gurney the patient is on when the device is triggered, they'll get shocked, too.
